What does the Wonderful & Worthy candle smell like?

It's a beautiful soft lilac floral with elderberry and champagne notes.

What does the Always Welcome candle smell like?

It has a hint of cardamom and spice blended with the warmth of cedar.

Why is my candle releasing soot?

This is natural in any candle. The best way to control this release is by trimming your wick. You can also make sure that your candle isn't near a draft or vent. Always extinguish your candle if it has been burning for over 4 hours. We recommend using a candle snuffer to control the soot release.

Why does my candle have wax build up on the edges of the jar?

This is called tunneling. When a candle tunnels, it is likely that the candle has not been burning long enough for the wax to pool from edge to edge. Burn your candle for 3-4 hours to allow for this to correct itself.

Why do the Lilac jars vary in color?

You may see a variance in the shade of lilac from time to time. We love the unique nature of hand-painted products, and all of our jars are painted by hand.

How long do your candles burn?

We make 3 size candles. Our 6 oz mini has a 10-12 hour burn time, our 12 oz standard has a 55-65 hour burn time, and our Grand 55 oz has a 220-260 hour burn time. For the best burn, always let the wax melt all the way to the edges on each burn (usually 2-3 hours) and trim your wick to about 1/4 inch before relighting.

What size are your candles?

We make 3 sizes — 6 oz (mini), 12 oz (standard), and 55 oz (Grand).

How do I open my diffuser?

Gently twist and pull the cap straight up. If it's tight, use a spoon or butter knife to carefully pop it off. It may feel stuck at first but it will come right up.

How often should I flip the reeds?

We recommend flipping your reeds every 3-5 days to refresh the scent. The more you flip, the stronger the fragrance throw but the faster the oil is used.

How long do the diffusers last?

Our diffusers typically last 3-4 months depending on room size, airflow, and how often you flip the reeds. Placing it in a smaller room with some air circulation gives the best results.

How should I store the reeds?

If you're not using them right away, keep the reeds in their packaging in a cool, dry place. Once reeds have been used in oil, they cannot be reused with a different scent — you'll want fresh reeds.

Do you sell diffuser oil refills?

We don't currently offer refills, but it's something we hear a lot about and are looking into. Follow us on Instagram @shoplifeinlilac to be the first to know if we do.

What warmer should I use with your wax melts?

Our wax melts work with any standard electric wax warmer or tealight warmer. We also sell our own Lamp Warmer which heats the melt gently for a strong, even scent throw.

How long do wax melts last?

Each wax melt cube provides approximately 8-12 hours of fragrance. Our wax melts come in packs of 6 cubes and are sold as a bundle of two packs (12 cubes total). You can remelt the same cube until the scent fades, then simply pop it out and replace with a new one.

How do I use the room spray?

Shake gently and spray into the center of the room, away from fabrics and surfaces. A few sprays is all you need — our room sprays are concentrated. They're also great for refreshing linens, closets, and cars.

What are your candles made of?

Our candles are made with sustainable natural soy wax, 100% cotton wicks, and pure premium fragrance oils. They are free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. Lead-free, zinc-free, vegan, and cruelty-free. Hand poured in the USA.

What are your diffusers made of?

Are your products clean/non-toxic?

Yes. All of our ingredients are clean with no toxins. Our candles use sustainable natural soy wax and pure premium fragrance oils, free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. Our room sprays are alcohol-free.

Are your products safe around pets?

Our candles and diffusers use premium fragrance oils and do not contain ingredients known to be toxic to animals. That said, we always recommend keeping candles and diffusers in a well-ventilated area and out of direct reach of pets. If your pet has specific sensitivities, we recommend checking with your vet.

Are your candles vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes, our candles do not contain any animal products, and no animals were tested or used for candle production. We keep our candles as clean and natural as possible and use only pure premium fragrance oils.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes, we offer free standard shipping on all orders.

Do you ship internationally / to Canada?

We currently ship within the United States only with free shipping on all orders. We're not set up for international shipping at this time, but it's something we're exploring. Follow us on Instagram @shoplifeinlilac for updates.

Do you ship to Alaska and Hawaii?

We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii at this time.

Can I ship to multiple addresses in one order?

We only allow one shipping address per order. If you'd like to send to multiple addresses, you'll need to place a separate order for each.

Can I return a candle that I burned?

We only allow returns of unburned candles within 30 days of purchase.

Do you offer returns?

We do allow returns within 30 days of purchase as long as your item has not been used or damaged. We will apply store credit to your account minus any shipping expenses incurred by Life in Lilac.

Can I return just one of the items that I bought as a set?

We sell items as "sets" and give them 1 SKU number. This means that the set is not able to be separated upon returning. We are not able to accept returns of part of a set and must receive all items in the set to accept your return.

Will [product name] be restocked?

Our fragrances rotate seasonally and popular items do sell out fast. The best way to know when something comes back is to sign up for email notifications on the product page (click "Notify Me When Available") or follow us on Instagram @shoplifeinlilac where we announce restocks first.

Do you bring back retired scents?
